The Nextcloud Revolution is Here

MANDATORY SURVEY: Action Required by June 30th**

Here's the key takeaway: we are conducting a global, mandatory survey that every account must complete. This isn't optional!!!

Accounts that don't complete the survey by June 30th at 23:55 WILL be suspended.

Complete the survey here:

Link to Survey

The survey focuses on gathering recovery email addresses, which by July 10th will become the primary method for password resets, identity verification, and account recovery. It also includes a comprehensive poll covering satisfaction ratings, suggestions, app usage patterns, and more feedback to help us move the needle on service improvements.

Again, this is mandatory. Complete the survey by June 30th or face account suspension.

Files.blahaj.land: Accidental ship of theseus.

After months of deep technical work and infrastructure improvements, we're excited to announce that our Nextcloud platform at https://files.blahaj.land has undergone a complete transformation.

This isn't just an update, it's a paradigm shift that takes our file hosting to the next level with dedicated resources, enhanced capabilities, and a foundation built for the future.

Dedicated Infrastructure: Moving the Needle on Performance

Our Nextcloud instance now runs on its own dedicated server node, which means we've gotten our ducks in a row for significantly improved stability and scalability. No more resource contention, no more slowdowns, just pure, dedicated bandwidth for your file storage and collaboration needs. This strategic move allows us to flesh out the platform with features that simply weren't possible before.

New Apps and Features: The Full Package

The expanded app ecosystem includes podcasts, media downloads, end-to-end encrypted secret sharing through Secretrs, improved backup flows, and the ability to use external music players. We've also added app intros to help you deep dive into new features, plus comprehensive archive management tools for viewing, editing, and managing compressed files. And that's not all!

And here's a key deliverable:

everyone now gets 10GB of storage, completely free.

We're also preparing for multi-region nodes with data replication to your nearest serve because best practice means putting your data where you can access it fastest.

SSO Portal: Unified Access is Live

The migration to our new user portal at https://sso.blahaj.land is ongoing and represents a tactical maneuver toward unified service access. The portal features most of our available services, streamlined login systems, and email-based password recovery (which ties directly into why we need those recovery emails from the survey).

Unclaimed Sites: Final Warning Before Deletion

Many user websites weren't migrated due to lack of tickets or Discord messages requesting migration. This means domains didn't have their certificates properly removed, and all unclaimed sites will be permanently deleted on June 12th. If you haven't created a migration ticket yet, time is running out.

Similarly, several custom mailing domains were left unattended. While they might still receive mail due to the old server running, any messages past the original deadline won't be migrated by us. The old mail infrastructure shuts down on June 12th.

Funding Reality Check: The Numbers Don't Lie

Our current monthly expenses total approximately €120. Current donations add up to €8, plus €30 from NiccoLovesLinux, which doesn't even cover our enterprise-grade outgoing mail costs.

Users who stopped paying but haven't had their benefits removed (due to my time being consumed by infrastructure work) will lose those benefits on June 12th. Any data exceeding the default quota will be deleted with no exports made on our end.

Final Deadlines: Mark Your Calendar

  • June 12th: Unclaimed sites deleted, old mail server shutdown, unpaid user benefits removed
  • June 14th: The tar.black domain stops working for all services (mainly email)
  • June 30th: Mandatory survey deadline, complete it or face suspension

If you want to migrate your site to the new infrastructure (which doesn't support SFTP content management), create a ticket by emailing tickets@blahaj.land, or DM @flathub on Discord.
The deadline remains June 12th.After that, unclaimed sites are permanently deleted.

Most of this information was covered in our initial newsletter posted on May 18th, so you've had plenty of time to handle these transitions. Don't let procrastination cost you your data or access.

Your Action is Required

This paradigm shift demands user participation. Complete the mandatory survey, migrate your sites, update your email dependencies, and ensure your account funding is current.
We're building the infrastructure ,and now we need you to step up to the plate and complete the transition.

The future of blahaj.land services depends on active user engagement. Don't get left behind.

The blahaj.land Business Team
